JASS (Just Associates) is offering a fully-funded, 4-day Global Movement Builders School in South Africa from October 30th to November 2nd, 2025. This international program seeks changemakers worldwide—activists, organizers, artists, educators, and advocates—who are working to address global crises. Participants will collaborate, learn, strategize, and share ideas to create lasting social change. Objective of the JASS Global Movement Builders School

  • Analyse the current contexts and historical moment, particularly how power and politics are reshaping the world, and the implications for our work.
  • Imagine the transformative change we seek, and explore pathways to get there.
  • Explore what it means to embrace a “movement mindset”, locating our work within an ecosystem of social change strategies.
  • Sharpen our strategic thinking to better navigate complex and challenging contexts.
  • Connect with other organizers and changemakers from around the world.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates from all around the world are eligible.
  • At least 5 years of experience in organizing or advocating for social change.
  • Currently playing a leadership role in a social change organization, network, or community group.
  • Eagerness to engage and learn with others across different issues, borders, and identities.
  • A commitment to social transformation that is liberating, feminist, and decolonial.
  • An interest in integrating a movement-oriented and ecosystem approach into their social change work.
  • A desire to deepen their understanding of power, including both the systems they are challenging and the collective power that can be built.
  • Readiness to rethink strategies and participate in cross-movement collaboration.
  • A commitment to applying the learning from the school to their ongoing social change work.
